Wildfire Preparedness Week Events Statewide to Share the Message
Building a Fire-Ready Future — Strengthening Our Defenses, Together
Sacramento: Wildfire Preparedness Week is May 4 – 10, 2025, and CAL FIRE and its partner agencies are hosting several statewide events to raise awareness on how CAL FIRE and our partners are preparing for the wildfire year and what steps individuals and communities can take becoming more wildfire resilient.
Who: CAL FIRE will be joined by a wide variety of partners across the state including the U.S. Forest Service, California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, California National Guard, California Highway Patrol, California Conservation Corps, and other local, state, and federal fire and emergency officials to speak about wildfire preparedness.
What: Wildfire Preparedness Week features events across the state aimed at engaging communities and educating the public about getting ready for wildfire season. These events will include tours, demonstrations and hands-on opportunities that will highlight how local, state, and federal agencies are gearing up for the 2025 fire year, the critical role of clearing vegetation and reducing fire fuels, and the steps individuals can take now—like creating defensible space and strengthening their homes—to stay safe.
